FAB Gallery
FAB Gallery, built inside Fine Arts Faculty at UART, is one of the most attractive premises for exhibition of works of art in Tirana. FAB Gallery is located the back side of UART, allowing all passers and art admires to have a very easy access to this environment.
The establishment of this gallery coincides with the development of artistic qualities and educational policies of the Academy of Arts. Despite the opening of the gallery coincides with the period when Albania was under totalitarian regime pressure, that had established canons of socialist realism and a demagogic art, the Gallery of the Academy of Arts served as a space that worked in the promotion of genuine artistic values outside the ideological system.
After '90, the gallery became a center of pilgrimage for the first artistic experimental influences being in the forefront of promoting contemporary artistic values in Albania. A host of exhibitions organized by students and professors of the Academy of Arts gave freshness to the artistic spirit in Albania, leaving no gaps at any moment in the visual arts life in our country.
In May 2006, with the initiative of Professors of the Faculty of Fine Arts and the local donor contribution, FAB Gallery was reconstructed .
The exhibition, which marked the revitalization of this Gallery, came as a result of selected works from the Faculty of Fine Arts archives of the 60s, under the auspices of professors Ali Oseku and Edi Hila.
Since that time a series of exhibitions have been organized in the premises of the FAB gallery. During the end of the academic year season in FAB Gallery are exhibited student works of Fine Arts Faculty ateliers. In these ateliers exhibitions, students have the opportunity to face the public reaction as well as being part of an integral part of artistic life in the country.
Fine Arts Faculty has always been opened to all artistic projects which provide values that contribute on creating an atmosphere that coincides with the stature and its own name of the University of Arts.
